Alsama Language School Terms and Conditions
1. Alsama Language School Purchase and Cancellation Policy
1.1. Purchase Policy
Subscription purchases are non-refundable.
If we reach our maximum teaching capacity, then our lessons on our website will be marked as “sold out” and unable to be purchased. You can be added to our waiting list by emailing learnarabic[at]alsamaproject.com.
If, in the unlikely event, you purchase a subscription plan and we do not mark the subscription plans as “sold out”, and we simply lack the teaching capacity to teach you, we will add you to our waiting list of students and give you priority over all students.
1.2 Cancelation Policy
1.2.1 Cancelations from you
If you need to cancel/rearrange one of your lessons you must give us at least 48 hours' notice by emailing learnarabic[at]alsamaproject.com.
If you do not do so, then your lesson that was scheduled will be counted as being “used”. For instance, if you purchase a standard (4 lessons per month) subscription and you do not contact us about cancelling/rescheduling a scheduled lesson, then you one of your four lessons of the month will be counted as having been used.
1.2.2 Cancelations from us
In the unlikely event that a teacher cannot make your scheduled lesson (due to illness or emergency otherwise) and informs you of this, then we will do our best to schedule your lesson with another one of our teachers. You have the option to cancel that lesson and “use” it when your normal teacher is available, or to “use” your lesson with the replacement teacher.
In the extraordinarily unlikely event that one of our teachers has to cancel a lesson without informing you, or does not arrive to a lesson, then please email learnarabic[at]alsamaproject.com. Should this happen to you, then one of your monthly lessons that are included in your subscription plan shall not be “used”. For instance, if you have purchased a standard subscription plan (4 lessons per month) but one of our teachers has to cancel due to some personal emergency, then the lesson will not count as being used up.
If you do not complete all of your lessons as allocated to you by your subscription plan then your lessons roll over to the next month. For example, if you purchase the normal subscription plan (which gives you 4x1hour lessons per month) but you only have 3 hours of Arabic teaching, then your extra lesson is carried forwards into the next month. Even if you do not subscribe for the next month, you will be able to have your lesson(s) from a previous month at no extra cost.
2. Alsama Language School Teaching Content
When our teachers share learning documents (homework, tests, sheets for learning) they are granting you a license to view our content. You are not being sold the learning content; rather, it is being licensed to you. This license forbids you from reselling or resharing the content in any way.
In more formal language, the Alsama Language School hereby grants you (as a student) a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view the content it provides for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes, subject to these Terms and any conditions or restrictions applicable to the specific content or feature of our Services. All other uses are categorically forbidden. Unless we expressly permit you to do so in a written agreement penned by an authorised representative of Alsama Language School, you may not copy, distribute, transmit, assign, sell, broadcast, rent, share, lend, modify, adapt, edit, create derivative works of, sublicense, or otherwise transfer or use any content.
3. Alsama Language School Student-Tutors
Student-tutors (S-Ts) are Alsama's mature (18+) students who are still students in Alsama's educational centres.
For safeguarding reasons, ALS S-Ts can only teach lessons between 9am-5pm (Beirut time). These are office hours in Beirut, Lebanon, +2 GMT.
Any form of disrespectful behaviour towards ALS tutors will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate cancellation of your lessons with no refund or way to "redeem" your leftover lessons from your subscription plan.
